My practice focuses on civil litigation. I have experience litigating and advising on a variety of issues involving insurance defense (including bad faith litigation, breach of contract claims and third-party claims), coverage analyses and property claims. I thoroughly enjoy motions practice, analyzing claim files, and creating strong and effective game plans with my clients geared towards successful results.
A quote to live by and to work toward: “Fight for the things that you care about. But do it in a way that will lead others to join you.” — Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Outside of work, I am an avid reader and am an active member of four book clubs, focusing on reading general fiction and nonfiction, classics, and classics by women written before 2000. I am also a member of the Jane Austen Society of North America. I love analyzing these texts and having discussions with people of all ages. In connection with my memberships in book clubs, I started a newsletter and write book reviews for my local bookstore in Parker, Colorado. I really enjoy traveling internationally and throughout the United States. It is a goal of mine to visit all 50 states and every continent. A lot of my time is also spent exploring Colorado with my husband and two Labrador Retrievers.
I carry these skills and use them to guide me in my legal practice, whether it’s by analyzing discovery materials, writing litigation reports, finding the right questions to ask a deponent, reaching the right tone at mediation or connecting with people of different ages and backgrounds. I use my itinerary planning skills in my legal practice every day in making discovery plans and full case chronologies, which guide me and my coworkers to resolutions of cases. I tackle my case load like I do my lengthy “to be read” list, with motivation and dedication.
