From a young age, Corey knew his life was best spent advocating passionately in the courtroom, and through his education and experience, he has forged a path to put himself in an optimal position to do just that.
Corey obtained his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. Afterwards, Corey attended The University of Richmond School of Law in Richmond, Virginia, where he took every opportunity to hone and sharpen his advocacy skills. A fierce competitor, Corey finished in the finals of the Moot Court Board interscholastic competition, the semifinals of the Trial Advocacy Board competition, and went on to be an executive board member on Moot Court, where he worked with local attorneys, Judges and alumni to coordinate Richmond’s intra-scholastic trial teams for over a year.
Corey also spent a semester in the local Commonwealth Attorney’s office on a clinical placement, as well as spending a summer at a local firm handling cases related to insurance defense, worker’s compensation and medical malpractice claims. At graduation, Corey was honored with a coveted entry into the Order of the Barristers, an award given to those who displayed excellency in courtroom advocacy.
Following law school, Corey moved back to his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri and took a job in the public defender’s office as a trial attorney, seeking to gain as much experience as possible advocating for some of the State’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged citizens. Afterwards, he gained valuable experience from the other side of the aisle, shifting to the prosecuting attorney’s office through January of2019. Next, he transitioned into private practice at a small firm in St. Charles, MO representing clients in a variety of matters. This well-rounded experience has helped Corey develop perspective and insight into all different matters of litigation, but most importantly, shown him what it means to work well with colleagues, court personnel and achieve the best results possible for his clients.
When he isn’t practicing law, Corey’s competitive nature is reflected by his hobbies. A former baseball player, Corey still enjoys softball, flag football, rock climbing, and experiencing all the beautiful nature Missouri has to offer with his Wife, Sarah, and their dog, Josie.
